1st "real" road test of an X ///M vehicle:
2010 BMW X6 M - Road Test - Auto Reviews - Car and Driver At an official drag strip, it looks like they achieved a 13.0 @ 106 in the quarter mile without launch control (test car didn’t have it). My original guess of 12.7 seems pretty reasonable on a cool day with a good launch. The mph seems on the low side, however, given they ran it with the engine hot, I’m betting it could do 108-110mph. Additionally, I just read that they did some tests the night before at the Chrysler proving grounds and was able to hit 12.8@110 (without launch control). For reference, this quarter mile time is on par with the Jeep SRT8, ML63 and Cayenne Turbo S, with the X ///M barely edging them out either off the line (with launch control) or in top gear. Consider the X ///M the fastest SUV by the slimmest of margins.
