Just drove it - not broken in of course - fast, of course, but it's very smooth and not as fast feeling as I thought (I drove my Z06 to the dealer so that didn't help )

Residual is not great: 36 mo/15K year = 52%. 36 mo/12K year = 54%

MF is .0029 - they are not negotiating that.

Negotiated $1,000 off MSRP. They wouldn't budge below that.

$92,675 MSRP (everything except active vented seats and full Merino)
$91,675 Cap Cost
36mo/12K year @ .00290 = $1572.27/mo

Edit: I live in MN, we pay tax up front on a lease, so you'll want to add that tax % to your monthly payment if you live in a state that allows you to pay tax monthly.

Pay to play. I'm going with Alpine over black with carbon.

Should be in by EO Sept!

Got to go eat - I'll write a bit more when I get back.

Here's a stupid question, but I will ask anyway. When you negotiated $1k off the MSRP and got them to $91,675, that is before sales tax, correct? So you'd need to add on whatever % sales tax your state happens to be charging?

Good question actually. I'm in MN, we pay the full amount of tax (on financed amount - cap less residual value) up front.

Other states allow you to pay tax as you go, and in that case you'd add tax to the lease amounts I indicated above.

wow, that is pretty crappy. No, its REALLY CRAPPY.
Based off those figures, for a X5M that costs $98,025, I would be looking at $1,714.32 a month for a 3yr/15k lease with 5k down. Total lease cost would be $67,166 with a $41,532 depreciation, $15,088 finance charge and a $51,496 residual.

Yeah, my 4.8is actually looks a lot better now. hmmm maybe I won't pull the trigger on the X5M.

If I had a 4.8i now, and the new nav/iDrive wasn't concerning, and I didn't want to have the fastest SUV, I probably wouldn't pay the (somewhat vast difference).

They are very, very similar driving at 'normal' speeds - aside from the thicker steering wheel and the throttle blipping

Unfortunately, I highly doubt it's a dct in the x5m. The dct doesn't roll at idle and also feels very distinctive when you're starting off in first gear. The clutch feathering is clearly noticeable. The x5m was not like this at all.

Anybody have a good picture of Carbon Leather Interior Trim (4MY)?

I was hoping for actual Carbon (or at least a good copy) as I think I saw in some launch photos.

The X5M I drove had piano black - too dark IMO.

Anyone know if either 'Carbon Fiber' or Aluminum are trim options.. My dealer has no idea.

Thanks

Here's a horrible Blackberry pic:
