20" #214's with Michelin Alpin 275/40/20
We got 2" of snow last night and are due for 8-12" more tonight
![]() I installed the square setup of 275/40 Michelin Alpine Michelin Latitude Alpinon a set of the #214 rep fronts all around this weekend. They worked like a champ today on the snow covered roads. I liked them soo much, I just bought another set for the '10 3.5d. I see TR also now has a special on the Blizzak LM-25's in 275/45/20 for $173/each.

275 will fit on OEM rear wheels, and is a better solution for winter, I am lead to believe

I've driven on 275/40s on the E53 square setup as well.
I prefer Nokians for snow however. King, not sure up in your woods, but Nokian is the leader in winter tires and they studded technology IMO is amazing. Ther Series 7 tires is coming stateside in mid February if I recall and is totally bada$$ as well. A lil too late for this winters season...but given the choice, that would be my studded tire of choice. I have a set of Nokian R Series 275/40 just waiting to get mounted as well... Just waiting for the powdercoater to finish off my wheels. |

I just put on my new winter set up. Toyo has sponsored many of our projects so I thought I would support them and purchased Toyo's over the Pirelli's . I put Toyo Open Country G-02 Plus tires on. Stock sizes exactly, 315 on the rear 275 on the front. These are are NOT Run Flats and seem to have a softer ride which my wife will like.
So far so good, i have only driven them for approx 10 miles or so and they seem to grab well both on acceleration and braking. We are to get lots of snow over the next couple days so we should know just how well these perform over the next couple days. Here are a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() MB |
