Christmas present to me...

Currently own an E46 M3. I was trying to decide if I was going to get a 997, new M3 or an X5M. The practicality of the X5M won out. I drove a black on black back from Chicago this afternoon. Ordered a set of snow tires and will have them put on tomorrow. The windows will be tinted on Saturday. Let the games begin.

From the looks of the weather reports, you're going to need them.

Congrats!

Sorry, I have not posted sooner been very busy and it is really cold here. I bought it in Chicago (I live in Milwaukee). I noticed that it had been sitting on the lot for 2 months. I called then the last week of the year and we were able to deal. I got about $2,000 over invoice. I asked for a $1,000 and they countered. I wasn't going to bicker over a $1,000 on a $90k car. I was happy.

They crappy photo is at the dealership with the 215 wheels on it. I am using the standard 20" with Pirelli for my snow setup. I have tinted it and hardwired my V1 in it. I am going to have 3M put on it in the next week or so. With the crappy weather here I am thinking about having that 3 year no wax treatment done. A friend with a 911 had it done and it looks really good. Thoughts? I removed the X5M badge from the back. I don’t like to advertise J And sometime in January I will get it in to have a Laser Interceptor quad system installed.

I would love to lower in about an inch but am concerned. I read in one of the reviews that they kept bottoming out the suspension. Will have to wait and see what solutions other come up with.

I really like the car. I find the new iDrive to be user friendly. And with it and all of the other toys I drove 2 hours from Milwaukee to Green Bay and never once looked at the road. I will have to work on that.

Forgot to mention. I will blackout the grill and am considering blacking out the reflectors and tailights. I have to look into the laws here.
