998M is on a distinguished road
Update with minor mods

I have about 3000 miles the X5M. Lovin’ it. A couple things I have noticed. I do have light squeaking from the front brakes. It is only when you get below 10 mph with a light brake. It doesn’t bother me; I consider it a trade off of a higher performance brake. Sometimes the transmission is clunky. I really like the firm shift. But every now and then while starting from a stoplight it will kind of pop into gear. As if you were pressing the gas and then slipping the transmission into drive. I have not paid enough attention to see if it is always occurring in M mode or if it does it in both. Curious if anyone else is getting this.

Had the entire hood, front bumper, mirrors and both front fenders covered with 3M clear bra. With the car being black I didn’t want any seams so I had them do the entire hood and fenders. But with the hood being so long, there is a seam just above the kidney grill. He thought he could get it lower with stretching it but it didn’t work. We decided not to use the 3M templates. My shop did a custom install. This way they can wrap the 3M under all of the leading edges. The templates stop just before you get to the edge and leaves it exposed. He is going to look for a longer piece and redo the hood in the spring.

Had them install a matte black kidney grill. I prefer the black over the chrome. Still undecided about matte or shiny. Thoughts?

The laser Interceptor was installed. They are going to need to go back and fix the front two. They should have been installed with the bubble on the outside. Also, they are pointing up a little too much. They were able to fit the back transmitter to under the lip by cutting the tabs off and using double sided tape.

The switch is under the right side of the dash by the CPU connection. The speaker is by the left vent so it is easily heard.

Next on the list is to powder coat the wheels to a gunmetal. And to changeout the chrome side vents with shiny black.
