Update with minor mods

I have about 3000 miles the X5M. Loviní it. A couple things I have noticed. I do have light squeaking from the front brakes. It is only when you get below 10 mph with a light brake. It doesnít bother me; I consider it a trade off of a higher performance brake. Sometimes the transmission is clunky. I really like the firm shift. But every now and then while starting from a stoplight it will kind of pop into gear. As if you were pressing the gas and then slipping the transmission into drive. I have not paid enough attention to see if it is always occurring in M mode or if it does it in both. Curious if anyone else is getting this.

Had the entire hood, front bumper, mirrors and both front fenders covered with 3M clear bra. With the car being black I didnít want any seams so I had them do the entire hood and fenders. But with the hood being so long, there is a seam just above the kidney grill. He thought he could get it lower with stretching it but it didnít work. We decided not to use the 3M templates. My shop did a custom install. This way they can wrap the 3M under all of the leading edges. The templates stop just before you get to the edge and leaves it exposed. He is going to look for a longer piece and redo the hood in the spring.

Had them install a matte black kidney grill. I prefer the black over the chrome. Still undecided about matte or shiny. Thoughts?

The laser Interceptor was installed. They are going to need to go back and fix the front two. They should have been installed with the bubble on the outside. Also, they are pointing up a little too much. They were able to fit the back transmitter to under the lip by cutting the tabs off and using double sided tape.

The switch is under the right side of the dash by the CPU connection. The speaker is by the left vent so it is easily heard.

Next on the list is to powder coat the wheels to a gunmetal. And to changeout the chrome side vents with shiny black.

Thank you for your update.
Can't confirm your experience with the transmission even in the M-mode.
Maybe only a little strong shiffting in the manuel mode.

Your car is classy. I like the "bad boy" look

I think that the border of the grill should be painted gloss black to give it a little definition and also to match the roof rails. Mine will be installed this Wed so I'll get some pics up as well.

Nice...

I had my back transmitters installed the same way on my X5. For the front, I had them mounted under the kidney grill, but they had to cut the grill. I like where you installed your front transmitters...

Had Project Two Customs move the front transmitters to under the kidney grill. Per Cliff at Laser Intercepter, this is a better spot. They did have to cut the plastic grill. They look a little crooked in the picture but don't in person.

You can also see how the LED angel eye replacement is not very bright at all during the day.

I much prefer Trips gloss blacked out grill than my matte black. I will have it painted.

Already have a door ding

Crazy, I have BOTH of these same problems! I just started noticing the transmission slip thing the other day and the brake squealing about the same time. I only have 700 miles so far on my 35d.
