Hello. X5M with 1200 miles

Hello. New to forum. Got Black on Black X5M last month; with 1200 miles on it went in for service suggested by salesman (no surprise since I'd had 2 M5s). Surprise was service personnel said no service needed yet. Hope they're right. I too am fed up with squeaky brakes. It has been cold in East Tennessee, but this seems strange. Will have to find an empty stretch of highway for some panic stops to see if it helps. Any opinions on the best setup for the M settings??

The specialist at the Performance Center where I picked mine up, was surprised that a 1200 mile Service was not included. He mentioned that he would personally do it. Had mine done last week which threw the Service Dept into a tizzy. They had never had one in and were clueless about how much oil to put in. They also had to overnight a Filter!
On a more positive note, they managed to reduce the brake squeal by about half.
This car continues to delight me. Great space, great electronics, love the adaptive headlights and scary quick acceleration.

Congrats! Play around with the launch control. It's a fun feature. For M drive, I leave EDC unchanged (I turn it on if needed), DSC MDM, Power Sport, HUD unchanged. The DSC in MDM is amazing. I love taking fast turns and slipping the back end out. Enjoy!

re the brakes - I did six 70-10mph at pre-ABS invoking levels - could smell the brakes, but couldn't hear the squealing anymore. Had to do it 3-4 more times since, but since it seems to be (very) cold related, hopefully you'll have to do it less often.
