When my car was new the oil was at the max. It has been slowly going down and now I'm around 4600 miles and it's about 1/4 between the max and min. I'm guessing I'll have to add a quart pretty soon.

Went to my dealer today and they swore to me that it was the 10w60 oil.

I think your dealer is wrong, well I hope they are wrong. I've confirmed with three different sources that it is in fact 5w-30 weight. 10-60 is only for naturally aspirated M engines in the Z, 3 and 5 series M's.

Took mine in for back up camera issues, the dealer had to add some oil. I have 12000KM.

I just took my car in for some warranty stuff. I'm at 5300 miles and it also told me the oil was low, so the paperwork says the dealer added a quart of 5w-30.

I'm at 6400 miles and no message yet but did change oil at 1000 miles.
It only took the Service Manager with the help of a District Manager an hour to figure out that the X5m uses the same grade oil as the 750.
