I actually have a good experience with the 3M. I don't wash my car often and have no trouble washing off the bugs off the bra whenever I do end up taking the car to the wash.

Btw, how difficult is it to remove the clear bra if you need to?

Not hard on metal, harder on plastic.
Rubbing alcohol helps take off scratches and bug discolorations.

using zaino, rejex or other polymers on the clear bra will prevent the damage.

3M works great to prevent rock chips.
But it's got some pretty serious issues outside of that. At least that's my experience after a nearly 4k mile road trip.

I haven't has time to write a post about what went wrong, but basically bugs on the 3M film ruined it in just a couple days.

3M's response was yep got to get the bugs off as soon as they get on the film or it will be permanently damaged. Which it was.

I will say though there is not a single chip anywhere the is and there are a couple pretty good impact marks.

But to have to replace the film on the front every few months just won't work me.
