Teaser pic of RPI exhaust prototype for X6M

Just picked up my car from RPI with the prototype exhaust on. From my initial drive, the car really does seems to pull a little harder. I'm going to get my car dyno'd this weekend so we should have some numbers up soon. As for the sound, its not very loud but it sounds mean! I have a video clip i took on my Droid X but I need to edit it before i can post it. If anyone can suggest a good program to edit 3GPP movie files that would help me get the video up sooner. If anyone is in the market for an exhaust for their X6M, I really suggest you hold off to see RPI's finished product before you go buying an exhaust. Build quality is excellent and they use only the best materials and have awesome craftsmanship. Sorry, but I can't give any further details or close up pictures since this is still the prototype. Keep in mind that this is the PROTOTYPE and NOT the finished product. Finished exhaust will be polished and look a lot cleaner. For now, here's a teaser pic. Video of sound and launch to follow as soon as I can edit the video file.

Looks good. Do you have a dyno run before you changed out the exhaust? Not sure how much after exhaust dyno will do if there isn't one before. This is not my expertise but has been a hotly discussed topic on other forums.

Yes, after I dyno with the exhaust on, I will have a graph of before and after exhaust.

Nice...looking forward to seeing and hearing. For edits, i use either Avid, Final Cut Pro (Avid & FCP are bit complicated if unfamiliar) or iMovie if you own a MAC.

If you want a hand, i should be free this weekend to assist.

Assist... ...Perhaps it's just me but the off the line sound seems similar to stock.

For comparison...

Thanks for embedding it for me! Yea like i said the exhaust isn't really loud but it definitely sounds deeper and the idle has a meaner rumble. Kinda hard to capture the exact sound on camera.

Guys, it is impossible to produce a different sound due to the very special construction of the exhaust manifolds/engine setup. You can get it louder but thats it. This is a huge problem for tuners. I heard at least half a dozen aftermarket exhaust systems but none of them sounded different, just louder. Not really helpful I'm afraid.

This is one reason I don't get that hype on the internet when people show off a new video with an aftermarket exhaust. It is IMPOSSIBLE to create a different sound, believe it or not. Even M GmbH is working on improvements, playing around with the exhaust flap control timing but it doesn't really seem to improve things.

Save your money...unless you want to sound like a tuned rice burner.
