The show has been painful but I really liked watching the X6M be pounded around the test track. Amazing to see how it cornes to flat.

The bad thing is one of the guys on the US version is actually a pretty funny comedian, I just saw one of his specials on comedy central the other day. How he landed this gig I have no idea, he never struck me as a car guy in any other media.

But, that US Top Gear 'version' of the show, dorks included, seems to be in keeping with the 'usual' mass market approach to 'cars', here in the Colonies, imo.

I think we sometimes lack empathy that while we are blistering through pages of Boards like this one, chock full of some very smart & very technically adroit, and at the least, enthusiastic people, that much of the car buying public is reading Yahoo Auto snippets and dreading laying out those $300 a month payments for a 'new car'.

I'm not male model or professional talking head, but I know I could stand up there and do a better job than the lumberjack wannabe in the middle or the guy on 'ludes on the left,

NEway, cool X-type car that BMW was able to parts bin assemble, but $100Gs and 9 mpg is not my cup of go jo...

That and the fact it is lacking personality. The original version seems genuine, the US version seems really forced.
