New X5 5.0 vs. Used X5M? Also, question re: Monte Carlo Blue

I've been debating my next car forever! I'm looking for a replacement for my e46 M3 & need a ride that will work for me (my 3rd & last child was born a couple of months ago). I'd been dead set on getting an e90 M3 0r CTS-V wagon but have finally come to accept reality...neither will take 3 carseats. My wife & I saw a Carbon Black X5M in our local dealership & to my surprise, she loved it! There's no way I can afford a new one right now but we could pickup a new 5.0 or search for a used X5M...your thoughts?

Also, does MCB command a premium over other X5M colors?

TIA!

Haha, I told you so! You could pick up a used X5M for pretty good price and no MCB does not command a premium. The only issue that would make me go 5.0 is the rock chipping issue, you may want to read the thread about that. Good luck.

lol! any regrets going with silverstone? i believe that the 5.0 & both 3.5s have similar issues?

No regret going silverstone. It looks really nice in person and it is pretty stealth. My other choices were CB and MCB. I had a CB M3 so wanted to try different color, MCB is nice. The rock chipping issue is particularly bad in Mpack 5.0 or 3.5, if you get a regular 5.0 it should be less of an issue

another thing to consider is that the X5M doesn't have the third row seating. also, gas is a little more conservative in the 50i.

go with the M if youre not worried about gas. (the M doesnt have a 3rd row option if thats what you were thinking)

3m either truck!

You can fit 3 car seats in back seat of X5. Someone on E70 forum has posted pics with 3 car seats. X5M will still work for you.

What kind of seats did you test fit?

I can't fit 3 in my M...can't even fit 2 boosters + 1 car seat with a 5pt harness!
