I reckon the X5M badge, even though it is factory, looks like an afterthought - and like what most people who aspire to own an M-car would do, which is buy an 'M' badge on eBay and whack it on.

Let that quad exhausts do the talking, those who know 'know'.
Agree 100%... However, my wife insists we keep the M badge on the back of the X5 (it is HER vehicle after all)... Ugh...

The first thing I did when I purchased the X5M was remove the badge and then detail the entire vehicle.

...The thing I like about the OEM badge (whether it is glossy black or chrome), is that the font is different than any other X5. All M cars have their own specific font that is only found on M cars!

Pretty cool IMO.

Figured I'd drop in and update on this thread... I removed the gloss black badges on the back of the X5 and purchased new badges. I actually did it for my M3 as well... So, both cars currently debadged, but will be wearing OEM badges that are painted in body color. I'm going for a badged but sorta debadged look...

That makes zero sense, I know... Pics at some point when I get around to installing (late July when I'm home again).
