BUT - BMW USA, my dealer and I (they let me get involved based on DIY reputation) and we found that when the AC is on condensation forms on the AC lines and drip directly onto the right DP/cat (causing steam - that could be mistaken for smoke) which cooling system are you adding coolant? The main system or the secondary turbo cooling system? You shouldn't get a code for this issue unless the pump fails 100% If you or the independent pull the harness for the 2ndary pump and there is any sign of melt - then have them/you purchase the 2nd updated pump and harness the pump(s) for the engine are pricey

The AC has never been on when this happens. The main system seems to use coolant but the secondary system was also a little low when I checked it.
