I have not tried removing tips on ///M but have removed them 10 years ago on a X5 4.4i. I put some garden gloves and jiggled the tip sideways and pulled it out with force. ///M tips are longer but should work same way and probably harder. Lazy to go to garage to check at this time.

I think the tips on the M would be much more complicated...requiring the exhaust to probably be dropped/removed to get to and remove the rivets. If you have the necessary tools, rivet gun/spare rivets, it's possible. Otherwise, nothing an exhaust/performance shop can't handle.
