My E83 does the beach

I recently picked up this 05 E83 3.0, black interior. I previously owned an 01 E53 4.4 which met its demise by a Dodge Caravan.. I had these wheels on the E53 and knew that the E83 used the same CB and lug size so I immediately put them on.

So for LDW I decided to take the girlfriend to Island Beach State Park. And the E83 performed flawlessly.

Lowered the 245/75/16s to 20psi, and with TC off, took too the beach. Xdrive surprised me with how well it handled soft sand. I can't wait for the upcoming fall beach season and bass fishing.

I like your style. Tire detail? Price? I'm thinking this is the year that I do something similar on my e53's stock 17" setup...

245/75/16s. I would not go any taller. These do rub at full lock, and did with the E53 as well. There is about an 1.5" left between the top of the tread and strut housing so you could increase the size to say 32" treads. Mine measure just shy of 31".

What they looked like on my E53:

Really diggin that look on the E53- cept with the extra inch of wheel from 16"-17", I imagine that I'd have to compensate by reducing treadwall height- maybe 70 rather than your 75... 255/70/17 is what I'm thinking... Is that a MT tire? Tread looks aggressive!
