Finally did coding on e83
After installing everything on an old white MacBook via an XP virtual machine using Parallels, updating datens from v38 to v53.3 and finally realizing my cable didn't have pins 7 & 8 connected together, I was able to code it.
And yes, I was able to turn on Bluetooth in the 2004 TCU, by changing it to bt_operation and also making standalone handset activ instead of nicht aktiv.
Unfortunately I have an iPhone 6plus on iOS 9.1 beta 4, and I think the BT on it is just too new to work on such old hardware.. I can see the bmwxxxx and it asks me for pairing code about 30 seconds after I turn the key on, but even entering the correct TCU ok code it doesn't pair.
Will try it with an old basic phone and my gf's 5s later this weekend and retry with handoff feature turned off, see if any of them work and report back.
Some other things I turned on were fogs with high beams, 120kph warning, comfort close from remote, dwa to get the flashing light and lock/unlock confirmation on park lights, etc.
I also turned on seat memory from key unlock but haven't had a chance to try it either since I only had my key with me last night to test.
It was fun, once I got it working, and my only investment was in the cable itself, and a few minutes soldering a jumper on the K+D-Can cable to make it a K-line.
