Question X5 wheels on an X3?

Does anyone know the logististics of this? I've gotten conflicting answers, even from the local dealer. Stock/OEM X3 wheels range in offset from +38 (style 110) to +51 (style 192M), so there really shouldn't be a problem with an offset of +48 should there? That is, if everything else remains unchanged.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'd prefer not to spend a chunk o' change on wheels that ultimately don't fit. Thanks guys....and gals!

Try using this calculator with all the info. I've heard they will fit but you cannot use a staggered set-up.

No problem. It may take some time (and phone calls) to dealerships as well as replica companies on what will and will not fit. Also, check eBay for X3 wheels. I've seen replica X5 wheels which are said to "fit" the X3. Again, contact the seller(s) about this to confirm. For example: http://stores.ebay.com/EurotechBMW

I just went through all of this trying to find new wheels for my X3 (didn't get X5 wheels, though).

Good luck.

Alpine rasta, I got a feeling X5 and X3 wheels are not compatible. Read somewhere that their centerbores (or bolt hole diameter) are different in size. Are you thinking of getting different wheels? Why not try aftermarkets?

I might just end up getting a set of OEM wheels as I have yet to find aftermarkets that "speak" to me.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions. You guys ROCK!

Don't mention it.

Btw, be sure to post pics of your new wheels.

I thought the X5 and X3 wheels are interchangeable? Look at this X3 with Type 87 20" wheels => http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...ght=x3+type+87

Quite right Dkl.the wheels are interchangeable as the centrebore and holes are the same.
The only difference is on the Offset(et) but not that much.
The link you provided shows that it has 20"s but with 9.5"x20 with 275/45/20 all round which is the X5s front set up.Getting the staggered set up with the 10.5" rear wheel +315/35/20 will be difficult.

I'm going to ask the local stealer to toss an X5 wheel on my X3 just to make sure...that's IF they'll do it, of course.
