I bought one and then returned it. My bike wouldn't fit...the rear latch would hit my handlebars....

My road bike would only fit, if I put one of the rails at an angle. So if you have two bikes, I don't think it'd fit. My bikes are not that big...

Wasnt there a way that you could adjust the bike rack so that it does close. I just find it weird that BMW states that the bike rack handles two bikes and that they would engineer it not to close the rear latch.

Ok just to let everyone know. I went ahead and bought the Interiour Bike Rack and installed it just b/c i got it for a really good deal. I installed it and BINGO my two Specialized Epic's fit right in. Sure you have to work with it a bit and get it just right but they do fit. I will post pics soon to show everyone how the bikes should be placed. For starters both bikes rear tires have to be angled so that they fit right in between the front seats, this will give you more room to move both bikes back a bit more giving you enough room to close the rear hatch. Also keep in mind that the rear window on the X3 is bubbled giving the most space in the middle on the glass and the least amount of space towards the sides of the glass, so keeping this in mind make sure that the part of the handle bar that is angled outward the most ( sticks out the most ) is in the middle of the glass and not the ends if you know what i mean. Like i said pics will be getting posted soon so that you know what i mean.

I kind of figured that BMW would never advertize the bike rack fitting two bikes when it does not, that would have been an embarasment.

Hope this helps everyone
