China Manufactured Transfer Cases on eBay. Anyone here try it?

So I bought my X3 with someone who thought it would be funny to pull the front driveshaft off and seal up the transfer case, it's a real botched job to make the car RWD.

I am looking to bring it back to AWD, and I am looking at transfer cases. I am trying to see if anyone has any experience with it or should I just source a used one from the junkyard?

I find a ton of them on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...+case&_sacat=0

Opinions welcome for the best way to approach this (I am not sure if it's worth getting a used one and rebuilding it before putting it on just to make sure I don't get an issue 1-2k miles down the road)

I appreciate in advance any guidance and feedback

PS: No, I'm not considering selling it and buying a different E83
