Well, that maybe true with your M3 but driving my X3 I was able to "hear" the second intake around 4,000 rpm and up...

im confused. in your first post you said that you couldnt here a difference. So i told you to floor it and redline it to see what happens. Then you wrote back saying you only have to do that to an M3 to here the diiference and that you could hear the difference after 4000 rpms.

So can you hear the difference or not. and whats that have to do with an M3. If anything the more power you have the more of a sound difference and the louder it will be. So an M3 would be louder than your X3.

Weapon R intake = no sound at 4k rpms
The eBay intake = sound at 4k rpms ("second" intake in the pix)

You're commenting about my personal experience with my X3. I do not see, at least in your signature, that you own an X3. And unless you previously owned an X3 with an intake your experience is limited to your vehicles - which does not include an X3.

This is not a flame but I wouldn't go to the X5 forum or an M3 forum and post what I think about a vehicle I've never owned. From what I can tell, you made a blanket statement about how an intake will respond to an X3. My posts have been about my personal experience with my X3.

Nothing more, nothing less...

Thanks for explaining i wasnt sure what you meant in your other posts.

I just dont see how under full exceleration you are not hearing any difference until 4000 rpms. Although i dont currently own an X3 my wife had a 2001 3series which has the same motor as your X3 and i heard the intake fromn about 2k to redline obviously being more pronounced at higher rpm. Also the kind of intake you have shouldnt matter because what increases the sound is the fact that you got rid of the air box and its an open filter. So it is no longer silenced by the box. So either intake you posted should have very similar noise levels. I was just wondering how you got such different results.
