Angry LED tail lights

Seems like every car out on the road has full LED tail lights now a days. Why is BMW so behind? Even their new E90 doesn't have LED tail lights.

Not very many cars really have them, If you notice its really only japanese car companies that have them (Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, Lexus, Acura)

The outgoing E46 had them. It seems BMW is waiting to deck-out the initial E90 model series. It's always an incremental thing. Perhaps we'll see the return of LEDs when the 335i (bi-turbo) arrives. Then the current E90 325i/330i owners will lust for the after-market (and OEM) LEDs. Muhaha

The 6's & 7's carry a lot more LED's then those japanese marques. The E90 does have LED's (the 3 stripes across the rear lights), however they are only used to light up the rear lights at night (surprisingly not for braking, which is where LED's have the greatest benefit).

Only the refreshed coupe and convertible E46's had LED's. The sedan and wagon never got them. I predict that BMW will bring full LED's to the E90 with its refresh. The same goes for the E60.

On the 3er, only the coupes have them...not the sedans. Another distinguishing feature...
