Painted Keyhole Cover

I took out the keyhole cover and replaced it with a solid one from Bimmian. It was very easy to do. Just pop-out the rubber piece from the side and the screw is right there.

Does that screw also open the interior door panel? Looks good.

Do you have a Left or Right hand drive? I wanted to order the same from Bimmian, but their site says it's for Left hand drive only.

Do you know if yours can fit on the right front door?

Nope- The door handle trim is all side-specific. There must be a EU supplier who'd carry the other configuration, though. Anyone out that way found one?

Looks great. Lucky for you on the X3 install that BMW kept the door like EVERY OTHER DOOR on a Bimmer, unlike the X5 where they decided you have to remove the door panel to do that same mod. I have the same deal ready to go for my X5 but don't like the idea of removing the door trim to get to it (I'll do it eventually). I also had the same thing done on my M3 (which was just as easy as the X3).

Don't worry about any batteries dying. If you're not going to drive the car for weeks at a time, then I would assume you're putting it in a garage...so leave the doors unlocked if you're that worried about the battery dying.

As I don't have my X3 yet I can't check but is there a keyhole for the hatch? If so in the unlikely event your key discharges you could use the spare on it.

Bimmian does not have the color for my X5 as well. I ordered the part # from my dealer and had the local body shop paint it for me for $25. They did a good job of painting. You can do the same if you do not find. Check the part # at www.realoem.com
