Headlights, wich bulb to buy??

Hello my name is Elijah and I have a few questions as I know nothing about headlights and everything that goes with it. I have standard headlights on my 2006 X3 and wished I had gotten Xenon.
On jlevistreetwerks.com I see two different products with huge price differences.
1. D2S Xenon Bulb Set (Choose Color) 159$
2. Predator Xenix Bulbs 25$
Wich ones to get?
Im only looking to get a nicer look for my headlights, something blueish (like xenons) but with good visibility capabilities. Could you please recommend me the right products?

Also the Predator ThinLine X3 (Xenon Only), is it really impossible to install without the Xenons?

Thank you very much for your responses.

I think the Predator Xenix Bulbs is what you are looking for. D2S Xenon Bulbs are for HID (Xenon) headlights. They won't fit into your Halogen housing.

You're Welcome! I guess the other 27 people don't know or don't care.

The differences are the size and connection. Well mostly the connector. You headlights (high and low beams) are H7s. Your fogs are H11 (if you want to make them all the same color). If you go the ebay route, make sure they are 55W. Or else you might get some error lights.

blue light special

There are dozens of different bulbs that will replace your yellow halogen bulbs.
You’ll need to do a lot of research before making a purchase; some of these bulbs will be so blue you won’t be able to see much at night.

We installed Sylvania SilverStar they have a very white light for better night driving.

Here’s a link, the Cool Blue might be what you’re looking for

On jlevi's website, it states that the bulbs are 4200K in color which is the color of BMW's oem HIDs. When buying, you should be ok if you stay away from anything over 6000K. Anything over that is really blue and it lowers the light output.

The problem with bulbs like the ones on the jlevi website are that the bulbs, as you can see from the photos, are made to look like HID lights through use of a blue coating on the bulb. What you will find, if you install them, is that night time visibility is dramatically reduced for two reasons. First the blue coating reduces the lumen output (brightness) of the bulb. Second, blue light is absorbed by road surfaces rather than being reflected back as well as white or yellow light. It's especially bad when road surfaces are wet (you might as well be driving without lights in situations like that).

My recommendation is something like a Sylvania SilverStar bulb, which will be much whiter than your existing halogens, and much brighter at night.

Lightbulb

I used to have the silverstars and to tell ya the truth i did not like them at all. it was the sameeeeee thing as the stock bulbs... no difference.. i actually also purchased Xenonmatch bulbs H11 from hoen.com for my fogs and thoguht they were greattttttttt so i went ahead an purchased the XenRange bubls for my headlights and they are much whiter than stock.. although not blueish at all like my fogs... but i like them.. i kinda didnt realize whhen i purchased the Xenrange that they had a different look than the Xenmatch. i only purchased the range cuase it said more light yet i didnt realize that meant less blue. W.ee im happy and that is all that matters- good luck with your lightts decision.
