CPT 9000 Eject Box Install Question

Well, I did my CPT 9000, trim and V710 snap-in adapter installation last night. I am left with one question... I can't seem to get the eject box seated all the way down such that it snaps into the retainer clips on the surrounding trim piece. It seems like the harness is in the way...

How do I handle this?

Thanks!

I had the same problem. I used a box cutter type blade and carefully cut, and removed the plastic clips holding the harness in place. Everything fits perfectly, now! BTW, that probably wasn't the appropriate way to solve the problem, but when frustrations abound, what's one to do?

I completely understand your frustration!!!!

So did you move the harness and secure it somehow, or did you just leave it loose in there?

I left it loose. It doesn't rattle, and fits snugly.

Pardon my un-inform-ed-ness, but WHAT is a CPT 9000 Eject Box?

TIA,
Ish

Sorry... it is the box that installs in the center console to hard wire a cell phone. In the days before bluetooth, BMW used to sell a special phone (the CPT9000) to interface with the car by plugging into a slot in the arm rest. Well, that box is still sold.

What happens is you connect this box to to the car's wiring (which is already present inside the arm rest) so that your phone can take advantage of the built-in cell antenna and also get charged while in the cradle. In addition, it hides the phone under the arm rest.

Ah... I figured it was a phone thing, just not sure. Thanks for enlightening me! I don't even own a cell phone (yet) but probably will in the near future. Mostly just for emergencies. One of the things I've always enjoyed about driving is the separation from the rest of the world. Know what I mean? Just me and my BMW!

Thanks again,
Ish
