My 2nd BMW, 1st X3
Today 'was a great day for me. I picked up, and add 2nd Black Magic Woman to my harem... Here you go, first lady... "Ripley" the name. ![]() Actually this one not "Black" but ...erm... may I call "Blue Magic Woman"? does it count??? ![]() I took this picture today on Palisades Parkway, at NJ/NY border. No lisence plates yet...This baby has everything but the kitchen sink, meaning GPS Nav. But my Garmin 276C going to fit perfectly to the lidded cradle on the dashboard. (how do you call that thingy?) It's a 2005 3.0, CPO. Smells like BMW, drives like BMW... Damn, she's a ticket magnet ! Great car... I congratulate myself about this decision. Alrighty, first question coming... Gas tank lid/cap can not be locked. (must be designed by a person living in Vatican city) AND can be opened outside by anyone who wants... Anybody knows a operational, securely lockable, good looking cap for the gas tank ??

try opening the gas door while the doors are LOCKED.
if you can open the gas DOOR then you need to make your first trip to you local stealer for warranty work. |

Looks like you have good picture taking skills. Please enlighten us with more.
As judybe83 said, the gas door shouldn't open when the car is locked... Let us know... welcome to X3world!! |

I love forums, I love sharing the info and I loved this one much better. Instant, simple, and friendly...
Thank you "judybe83", I tried what you said and woila! it worked. Sales person doesn't know anything about it, he offered a cheap locked lid But it was my mistake, I should read handbooks. Quote:
From the BMW MOA (Motorcycle Owner's Association) web site, "picture of the week" page. http://www.bmwmoa.org/photo/photoview.php?pic=15541345 full size http://www.bmwmoa.org/photo/gallery....5&pic=15541345 introduction page Yesterday I made my very first 80 miles of test ride, everything was superb! I'm happy.... Thank you for all. Last edited by donald_duck; 05-16-2006 at 01:58 PM. |

I am a rider but haven't owned a bike in years. I'd like a RS someday. There are a lot of great roads to ride here in AZ.
