X3 Is On A Boat....Dealer Add Ons?

well, our 2006 silver gray w/black leather interior x3, with premium package, heated seats, sirius, the DSP stereo, Nav/Bluetooth/Emergency Assist, etc...is on a boat, headed to harbor in NYC...should arrive in two days.

The dealer will install sirius, etc....but i was curious if people had any recommendations on other adds ons. This is what I'm thinking (but do add if you have suggestions):

-basic roof rack (will add bike/ski later, as we do both)
-non slip mat for cargo area (for our little girl, the big lab Sophie)
-chrome tips for the exhaust
-will make sure Nav system has LATEST software (i think that's version 27, but does anybody know for sure)
-aux input for IPOD (we'll wait and see if we want ICELINK...for now the aux, while inferior, will be fine)

Anything I'm missing??

I have two dogs that are a huge part of my life and travel with me often. I HIGHLY reccomend the BMW Cargo Area Protective Cover Part # 51470391103.

I couldn't live with out it as both of my boys shed constantly!

I have a Great Pyrenees (125 lb) and a Great Dane (166lb). They both fit quite well with the seats folded down. When we get home, I remove the cover, do a quick dusting of stray hair, and the X3 is ready for me to take to work.

The stainless tips on the sport pack look fine. Save your money. Are you going to install the phone cradle. I did and it's really a clean way to hide the phone. The hatch in the rear is two sided. Open it up and flip it over. It's got a rubber coating on it. Seems to hold things in place pretty well. Have the windows tinted. It's a must have here in the mountains of AZ.

thanks Rick....I don't have a sport pkg, so i think i'll spend the $$ for the tips....we have prem pkg, no sport. I was thinking about the cradle....Seems worthwhile.

I actually decided against tint/privacy glass....I think it looks much cleaner w/out it....I don't know why all SUVs have tinted back windows...You don't see sedans with tints (i.e. 330/530s)....tho i can see their value in AZ

did the dealer provide the cradle or was that aftermarket?

You are welcome. Tinted windows do more than add privacy. They add security as it's a little hard to see what's inside the car. I have the rear glass 30% light to pass and the front 50% will pass. The tint also keeps the car cooler and keeps 98% of the UV from attacking the interior. I installed the cradle my self. I bought it from a friend that works at a dealer in Tenn. Send me an email and I'll hook you up with him. It's a pretty easy install DIY. I also got my Sirius Radio reciever from the same guy.

Why would it be on a boat. They are made in South carolina, and i thought BMWs that do come in from Germany to port are brought in to a port in NJ. Not sure what you mean. Who told you that
