Exclamation Clear cover or Not

Guys/gals,

I'll be picking up the x3 next week and I am debating on getting the cover. Is it worth getting it?

How much can I expect to pay for it?
thanks

Do it! I absolutely regret not getting it. Depending on the brand (X-Pel, etc.) the prices vary, so shop around a bit before making a final decision.

do you mean putting the 3M clear bra on or getting a NOAH type cover?

I had the 3M clear bra put on mine and I love it. Well worth the money.

Never been a fan of it... but I see its value. Get it done professionally, though. Good luck, and post pics if you do put it on.

I agree. My pops put the clear plastic coating on his MINI and it isn't too visible, but I still see it and it kind of looks a little . . . cheap. From a distance you can't tell but I can always spot it once it gets closer and I'm not sure what it would be like long term . . . but it might also eliminate the multitude of rock chips I get on the hood. Now if they just made something like that for the windshield (my 3 has 4 serious chips and counting).

So I called authorized dealer for the xpel clear bra and I was quoted $800 for the custom kit. The shop said that the kit was $525 and with the installation it will be close to $800 so he suggested that I go for the custom kit.
It seems bit expensive considering how much the clear bra kit is listed for on the x3 accessories catalog.

I'm curious to find out how much you guys paid for them?
Did you get the full kit/partial kit?

You need to find out what parts are included with the custom kit. I didn't get the headlights covered which saved about $100. I did cover the hood, fender, and side mirrors, but I paid about $500 which included labor and lifetime workmanship guarantee. You may need to shop around b/c that price sounds high.

I had mine done right after I bought my X3, almost a year ago. It was 300 Euro ($380) to do the complete front bumper, 12" on the hood and the fenders to match, and the mirrors. 3M product with a 7 year written warranty. Not as invisible as I thought it would be, but my X3 is Saphire Black. For me it was well worth the money.
