Vern, your owners manual will tell you how to replace those Fog lamp bulbs and all other lamps for that matter. Just give it a look and tell us how it went.

I went to the owners manual and they tell you to pull the cover straight out to get at the 3 screws that hold in the fog lamp.I put in a allan wrench in the hole in the cover and realy gave it a few good pulls and nothing happens. I'm just affraid I'm not doing something right and I'm going to damage the cover.
cheers

Wrong Base

Back to the Fog light saga.It looks like BMW might have changed a few things,no more phillips head screws, torx head. and the diameter of the blub base is no longer round the diameter has 3 equal notches on it. Hoen is getting intouch with BMW about the base change to see what they can do for me.
cheers

Help!

Ok, so before I start screwing shit up can someone explain how the housing/cover comes off of the fog lights on my 2006 X3 so I can replace the bulbs. Once I get to the light itself there will not be a problem. I looked in the owners manual and wouldn't you know that it shows the example on a 2005 model. If anyone has pictures that would be helpful as well.

Thanks

You have to pull straight out and you need a lot of force to remove the black housing. Then you can remove the lens to get at the bulb. I don't know if you read my post about the base of the bulb change but if yoiu have the base with the notchs`in it it is NO LONGER H 11-55 watts.Your guess is as good as any body else what the NEW PART # IS. Good luck
cheers
vern
PS If you decide to take it apart and take the bulb out that has the notchs in the base see if you can get the part # off the bulb. Thanks

I have talked with Hoen and they have no idea what I'm talking about. They are telling me that their database says H11. Has anyone already been through this ordeal and knows what actually fits?

Thanks.

The only thing I can say is reread post#16. I also spoke with Hoen and they said they would get intouch with the local BMW dealer to find out about the change. In the mean time they gave me a full refund less my cost to ship the bulbs back. Good luck
cheers
