2007 X3 Programming Question

Can the dealer program the doors to unlock when the car is put into Park? I can't tell you how many times, I have put the car in Park and then go to the trunk or the backseat to get my son out and the doors are locked and then have to go back to the front of the car to hit the unlock button or use the remote.

I don't think you can get the automatic unlock option turned on (it doesn't exist). Which is why I had the dealership turn off rolling locks. I can push the lock button if I want the locks locked, but it was a real pain for me that the locks and hatch locked every time I drove the car.

BMW does not have an option for automatic unlock on any vehicle.

IMO automatic lock is one of the most useless features possible on a vehicle, just behind electronically adjustable pedals and a power tailgate.

Think beyond your circumstances.

I'm sure there are parents, handicapped, or elderly folks who need and appreciate the convenience of a power tail gate. It would have been handy when I had a Pathfinder and my daughter was a toddler. She was a real handful at 2-3 years old (and still is at 20).

IMO Rolling lock is a + for safety especially if you have small children and if you have to get back in your car often enough to press the unlock button to get into the back doors or tailgate you should be use to it by now and it should be second nature to press the lock/unlock button when you stop the car. Good luck
cheers

Auto locking can be inconvenient but having had someone try to get into my car while I was in it is enough to over look the occasional nuisance.
