Well this dealership is rallye bmw in westbury NY and its huge! So theres alot of cars.

So he tells me my X3 should be around 30k Im over 10k miles...and I believe its 175 for every 1000 miles ur over! which i believe 10,000 miles a year is too little..I think im goin to try a different dealer. This is where I bought my X3 from this dealership.

My experience with them is that they take $2,000 off full sticker and that about it.

I am I the market for the same car please let know how you make out?

You might try Andrew at Habberstad.

You also have a car so you could order what you want and wait, this may get you a better deal?

BMW is offer lease deals on this car, I would ask what the money factor is for a 36 mth lease.

Rallye BLOWS. Go out to Habberstad in Huntington. Rallye is used to selling to the extremely rich North Shore residents who usually don't haggle over a couple of thousand here or there, so they dont really get into deep discounting. on top of that their service department is quite possibly THE worst automotive service department I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with, and my neighbor was one of the service managers so that should tell you something.

Run, do not walk, away from Rallye.

He is ripping you off. Take the time and sell the car yourself...

Even if you end up getting a good price on the trade-in, he'll just jack up the price on the 328xi. Its the way the dealer works, and the dealer always wins...

Isn't it a smarter strategy to strike a deal on the new car first, before mentioning you have a trade-in?

are we talking a 3 series sedan or coupe? you can check on any 3 series board and find that the coupes are still very hard to get a good deal on (most lie anyway). because of the new body style the demand is high and the supply is low which leads many to end up dealing closer to MSRP than invoice (not including ED).

with most here. Your best bet is to go to another dealer, work out the new car deal first, then bring your X3 trade-in into the equation. If they ask you if you have a car that you wish to trade-in, tell them you don't know, it depends on whether or not the deal meets your financial requirements.

That being said, I think you should think about what you have which I gather is a basic no-frills X5. I'm guessing it's missing some of the luxo items like premium package and leather which you're probably jonesing for. It's probably not the type of vehicle that a dealer would want to take in as a trade. You'll probably be better off selling it private party. You'll certainly get well over what the dealer offered you.

But at 2.9% interest and 2 years into your terms (also factor in the CPO warranty), you should think the financial side. You should factor in whether or not you'll be upside down on your loan. You might be better off keeping your X3 and modding the hell out of it with a portion of the money you didn't spend. Then you can wait for the new X3 with the twin turbo N54 engine.
