Anyone install the BMW Rear View or Front view camera?

Just wondering if anyone has these installed on their X3's? I'd like to get some detailed info on them. Thanks.

i haven't seen it on an X3, but it's probably the same system as on the X5.
some members here have both the OEM front and rear cameras...

hope they post pics...never seen the front ones.

As far as I know there are two setups for rear cameras on the X3 both of which are different from the X5. The front camera is the same as on the X5. Hopefully people will write in, especially those with X3's in Europe who seem to be far better versed in this area.

a quick google search revealed the following
(which wasnt much info)
http://www.circlebmw.com/parts/electronic/rearview.htm

another option is to smack one of these on there and some how connect it to the nav screen and make it turn on when car is put into reverse http://www.autoanything.com/generic_...9764&p_id=2316

The truth is I wanted a backup camera on my audi and was even going to install one (with a small lcd display mounted on the sunvisor (flipped down to see camera) but after I realized the cost involved and the reason for me needing a backup camera (dont know why people need a camera in the front) which was to not bump anyone while backing up......I realize the park distance sensors can work just as well..... let me know if you find something though...i'd be interested in what it looks like...

Ni MGRUB,

In BMW X3 accessories catalog you can find BMW camera options that can be integrated in Navi professional.

I am also looking for the same upgrade in future, but I don't have navigation options....

What I am looking for at the moment, and what also might be interesting for you or other users is:

Navigation system with MP player, bluetooth, IPod integration and camera option

There are some options for such systems are more will be availlable very soon.

For your personal info check the link http://aving.net/usa/news/default.as...e=01&SP_Num=50 and serach more through their web....

Some of the pictures:

Guys, thanks for all your work, but honestly I'm only interested in the factory camera options (see pics) and have a number of specific questions about the installation and integration/function of these cameras. I'm AMAZED that no one has them!
