Panorama roof

This dam roof is really getting to me. It all started when everytime i take it in a touchless car wash it leaked where the sunroof switch is, and i know its a high preassure stream of water but if its not happening on my 1990 4Runner so it shouldnt happen with a 2002 X3. So i take it do the dealer and they replace the hole thing. Now that i got it back and went through the car wash again i noticed that it stopped leaking from the front, but when i look at the back, (with the cover open) water is dripping in from the sides where the tracks are and from the back of the roof. Has anyone noticed this and if so is it normal. Please let me know.

Thanks guys.

Cheers.

My X3 is a 2004 and I have never had that problem. I can only imagine how pissed-off you must be.

Sorry but its a 2004 X3. You guys have looked with the moon roof cover opened and notice no water coming in from the back of the panorama roof. This is so annoying.

We've had no problems at all with my wife's X3. She takes her car through one of those touchless car washes often... no leaks at all.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

Juan

There were problems reported on 2004 models that the drain tube for the panorama roof was getting kinked during assembly causing it to leak. Might get yours checked or replaced. There is a service bulletin out about this.

when i took it into the dealer they told me they changed the carousel or something like that but didnt mention anything about the drain tube. maybe i will tell the service guy that. It worries me that water lands on the fabric of the roof and it might weakin it. This truck is driving me crazy.

cordovar-

I tried searching for threads about this problem (which I know I've read about) here and at another forum but haven't turned up anything. It was about 2004 models and I know there is a service bulletin out about the problem. Your dealer should be able to look it up. Also the fix should be free. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the drain tube.

Best of luck to you,
