Price change on Delievery

I was notified today that my ordered X3 has arrived and is ready for delievery (after 11 weeks). I noticed though that on the most recent "quote" the dealership has significantly changed the negotiated discount.

Obviously I need to get my SA on the phone to see where the adjustment came from, but in the meantime I would appreciate any advice or stories.

Thanks,
Pete

Was your deal in writing or was it a verbal deal?

Dealer is BS'ing you. Confidential prices can be easily obtained on internet.
These are US prices for 2007 model.

The original quote is in writing. It wasn't the cost of the vehicle that changed, just the negotiated price. I had the wholesale price before going to the ealership (CDN $), and believe me, I didn't beat them down that much.

At the moment I'm largely just curious if this is a typical tactic.

I'll take a friendly approach to investigate, but I have to say, one sure feels trapped at this point. The thought of negotiating again is frustrating; maybe that's what they're hoping.

Thanks for the thoughts,

In my opinion, you still have the upper hand. They aren't going to want to see you walk away from a sale, so stand firm with what you feel you originally negotiated, and even consider asking them to throw in a few "freebies" to compensate you for the mistrust they displayed.

Dont budge an inch. They are just hoping you want the car so bad you will buckle. If it were me I wouldnt call them back for a week or two.

Yea, don't let the dealership pressure you into any purchase. If the deal (especially in writing) is not what you wanted, ask that they hold their promise true. Otherwise, they have to throw in some freebies (and floor mats don't count) to compensate. Or, just walk away.

Isn't "Bait and Switch" against the law in Canada?
