A great big "HECK YEAH" to that. During the days of ice and snow we had last year, my X3 confidently held the road, didn't slip and got me where I wanted to go. I even made it up my steep hill passing ditched Subarus, H3s, trucks and other assorted SUVs. As everyone was hoofing it up the hill, I drove right past them - they stopped, dropped their jaws and grumbled as I turned into my driveway!

+1. In fact during the big ice/snowstorm the East Coast had in Feb, I was one of the first ones out that morning after the precip stopped. Everyone was hard at work, shoveling their snow (snowblowers don't work well in icy/snow mix). Cars were stuck everywhere and the plows had enough trouble getting the interstates clear. On the neighborhood streets, people just stopped to look up and STARE, wondering how the heck this small BMW X3 was getting by at 15-20mph with little trouble. The looks of their faces were priceless! And I just smiled and waved

My wife drives a X-3, and loves it. Prior to that she had two Range Rovers. In this country a whole bunch of women drive X-3's. X-5's, XC70's. XC90's, Cayenne's, Range Rovers, Jeep's, ML's, etc. So do a lot of men
