PS. I've been lurking on this forum for at least 6-9 months. Although it probably has the best info on the X3 I've found, the traffic is not as good as some other bimmer forums I've been on. |

haha, quite alright!!
The Sand/Black interior is pretty good looking, but be prepared to clean it often. I would check or ask about the service records, and ask that the car be updated with the latest software. What options does the one you are looking at have?

AW with Sand/Black, steptronic, sport package, premium package, 19" wheels, cold weather pkg, xenon lights, 15,785 miles. Build date was in '06 as the car was bought November '06 in Omaha, Nebraska. The car has been at the dealer since August '07 (not a BMW dealership). I'm in the process of trying to find out what kind of service has been done. The only thing that really concerns me about the X3 in general is the tranny.

Sounds like a good vehicle options wise.
Even after you buy the vehicle, bring it to a BMW dealer and complain that the trans is jerky...you may want to even bring in a few SIB #'s. They'll hopefully get you the most current software, and you'll be good as gold. Honestly, the trans on the X3 just isn't that great. They still have a lot of programming to do, because it's nowhere close to the one on the X5.

So for a post more on topic to this thread...
I picked up my X3 last night and I was sitting here reading the manual. The manual actually says that DRLs consist of the low beams. It says: " when the daytime running lamps are activated, refer to page 59, the low-beam headlamps are always switched on when the switch is in this position (meaning automatic headlamp position) and the ignition is on." Does this mean that DRLs are not on if you have the headlamp switch on anything other than automatic? For some reason tonight my fog lights were on but I did not have them switched on. I'll have to look into that. BTW, I don't think DRLs are activated on my x3 right now. |

Hey trueX5er,
Some insurance companies give a safety feature discount if you have DRL's. Mine does, but I didn't have them activate so no discount for me. Since you want them on you might check for the discount with your company though.
