No, it had standard suspension. And this was the reason that i went with the H&R route (H&R lower 1.6"F and 1.5"R). Eibach lower 1.2" F and R. The H&R springs made the ride a bit stiffer but nothing that i can't live with it. I remeber that i actually liked it better with H&R, because when it was lowered it still had the stock 17" wheels. But if you are really concern with losing a bit of confort, i suggest you the Eibach springs because it is a progressive spring and more OEM shock friendly.

I forgot to say that with this tires it increase the gas milage because it needs now less rpm to make the same cruising speeds on highways than before.

I'm all for non-roof rack ;-)

Just be careful when comparing ride comfort / stiffness, the original factory settings on the MY2004 X3s are stiffer than those from MY2005 onwards.
