2008 X3 pricing...

Hi guys,

I am from the X5 forum. I am trying to help my brother to pickup a new Titanium Silver w/ gray interior X3 for his wife w/ these following options:

1- Premium package
2- Xenon adaptive headlight
3- Comfort seat w/ lumbar support
4- Parking distance control
5- Premium sound
6- Privacy glass
7- Steptronic, and
8- Sport activity package (is this a good option?)

I like to know how much are you folks paying. How much over invoice? I am in Southern California. I saw edmunds price is listed @ TMV = $43,482 before tax and licensing.

I do not see the pano roof included in the premium package, is it a separate option? When is the X3 body style going to change?

Thank you in advance for your inputs.

Steve

Hi Steve
We got around $2,000 off our '07. Panoramic roof is standard on all X3s.

Also, make sure you do extensive test driving because there is a major flaw in the X3's automatic transmission that causes it to hesitate for several seconds once the accelerator is pressed. There is no fix as of now, only minor patches. Some people have said they were almost killed by this.

Best of luck

I think $1000 over invoice is a fairly decent deal. There's no unusual demand for the X3s at this moment.

The Panaromic moonroof has been standard on all US X3s since 2006. The Sports Activity Package basically includes tint, running boards (more for show), Shadowline trim, and the 18" all-season style 205 wheels (which look good).

About the transmission, check the build date of the vehicle. The latest software fix was incorporated in the 11/07 build vehicles (fix released in mid Oct). I had a brand new 11/07 build 2008 X3 that drove just fine (and indeed, it was very exciting and fast). Note that not all X3s exhibit this problem either; my guess its perhaps 20-30% tops. Do a test drive though, if it is on the dealer lot. If you are ordering, this is a non-issue.

Some of the folks on Bimmerfest whine very loudly about this issue.

Thank you trueX5er and AzNMpower32. I will look for the 11/07 build and some hard testing before laying down any pricing.

Based on your options, here is the invoice pricing:

Base invoice price, US delivery: $34,960
Training Service Fee: $180
Destionation Charge $ 775

Titanium Silver metallic paint: $430
Premium pack: $2455
Sport Activity pack: $1275
PDC: $635
Adaptive bi-xenons: $730
Hi-fi Sound system: $615

Total Invoice: $42,055

Your quote is about $1000 over invoice, which is fine. Looks like a decent deal, but the dealer should throw in the floor mats for free. I can't think of any dealer that charges extra for the regular floor mats.

Out of curiosity, why silver/black/wood though? That's such a popular combination. Why not order one with Terracotta or Tobacco leather, or aluminum trim?

For sure, I am not going to pay for the floor mat. I will ask the sale manager to throw it for free.

I agree w/ you on the color combo. I like to terra or the tobacco color better than black.

Thank you again for your input.

And - if you can do ED, go for it, you won't regret it.

I too was intrigued with the Tobacco leather, but are steadfast with having TiAg. Didn't think this color combo would work. Since it's a priority one option, it would be extremely rare to see one in the flesh to confirm. I'll probably go with the Black as well but with the Gray Poplar trim as I have in my E92...love the look.

To the OP, best of luck with your new ride!
