What are these cables?

Hi All,
I was looking in the back of my 04 X3 to see if mine was prewired for bluetooth. I found the Mic Cable already there where the sunroof controls are but found some weird looking cables near the TV/Sat Nav system in the boot.
Anyone know what these two cables are, they were both tucked away and wrapped up.

Thanks heaps if anyone can help
Regards
Rod in Oz.

Hi hwy,

Thanks for taking the time to look, I have found some instructions here :
http://www.bimmernav.com/BMW_X3_Blue...tructions.html
From what I can make out, the black cable from the first picture is the ULF connector, but I cant figure out where/how the "purple/beige" Cable for the antenna is??

Thnks
Rod.

Hello!

On first picture is ULF\TCU connector (different pinout)
On another picture is GSM or AMPS\CDMA antenna connectors and 3-pin connector - prewiring for GSM antenna compensator\amplifier for AMPS\CDMA tel antenna
This is very small retrofit set (Compensator box and 2 screws)

So do I need something extra for the Bluetooth Antenna if I want to install bluetooth? I'm confused with the second cable.....

I think you have Bluetooth antenna as part of a prewiring set.
Search again, near TCU\ULF connector you will find antenna cable with white connector - this is Bluetooth.
If you haven"t this cable in your car - you need Bt antenna and antenna cable

Dont do nothing with cables on second picture - all will work even without tel antenna compensator.

Thanks again for the prompt reply.

One other question, if I have SatNav/TV display do i still need to have a pairing button installed in the centre console? Or will I be able to control the Bluetooth options and pairing from the screen?

Regards
Rod

Now i can"t answer your question because i dont have display in my x3
I have ULF without buttons, only with BT Antenna and it works fine.
From diagnose i pair my phone one time and all works ok.
With GT1 pairing takes 2min.

In next two weeks i will retrofit navi and tv and see answer for your question )
