sunroof noise

Hi Folks,
Has anybody experienced a rattling noise when the panoramic sunroof is opened and the X3 is being driven over 100kph? There is also another noise reported in other thread when the sunroof is closed and you hit a bump. Both rattling noises are annoying and do not know what you have to replace or fix.. help please.. Thanks

There is a service bulletin out for popping or creaking noises coming from the moonroof. It should be a warranty item, and may require the replacement of the entire moonroof cassette.

Thanks AzNMpower32 for the reply. Now I would like to know whwre to get the TSB that specifically says waht you mentioned and also what is the cassette? If this is replaced, both noises are corrected?

Here's the best I can do: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...nroof+creaking

I haven't experienced this myself, so I haven't searched up the bulletin number or had the thing done.

Hi Folks,
I took the X3 to the dealership and after 4 days of complainings with the service manager and sales manager they fixed the rattle noise. I do not want to get into details here of what happened but I'm very dissapointed of how this dealer treated me (They do not even know how to fix this). Anyways I complained and complained and they fixed it under warranty. So, my advise would be if any of you have this rattle, go to the dealership and ask for a road test, go with them, show them when the noise appears and if they do not tell you right away what they are going to do or if they do not know what is this about do not leave the car there and go to a different one.
