If pushed, I can list a few gripes (though overall I'm satisfied with my second X3):

Stereo/speakers - not enough speakers. 4 in X3 . . . at least 10 in both recent 3 series I've leased.

MP3 Input - Didn't come standard in '04 or '06. Installed my own and drilled hole in front of cup holder in center console - invisible when not in use.

Clunky Shifts - still a problem now and again - but ignorable if I drive aggressively.

Instrument Cluster - not enough of the information I want - too much of what I don't care about. Need more . . .

Stiff Ride - My '04 was worse, my '06 only slightly better. '07s and newer are just about perfect.

Cheap Feel - only in certain aspects (center storage console, dash console, center of back seat when arm rest is down) lack BMWs fit and finish.

Moonroof Net - with moon roof open (slid back) the net rises and makes a ridiculous amount of noise - even at lower speeds. I can cruise at 60+ in every other BMW I've owned and not be as annoyed by wind noise.

Radio - the stereo itself is fine, but the fit and finish of the face plate (on both my 04 and my 06) is cheap and flimsy . . . like it almost wants to come out but it hasn't - yet.

Again, I really do like my X3s . . . but every idea can be improved upon and these are just a few of mine.

Stiff ride, rattles. The issue with the wipers bugs me as well.

Parktronic: It's on when is not needed (when idling in Neutral, results in beeping when someone loads the trunk or just walks by) and off when needed (need to manually engage the front one in Drive when parking).

Auto-wipers: I don't get the necessity of the "car-wash safety" feature, that requires to move the lever or rotate the dial to engage the wipers event in auto mode.

Navi: Entering an address using the dial is a pain. Locating on the map - forget it.

No coin holder! WTF? Where to keep the change for those parking meters??

Privacy glass: I want my money back. The tint is barely noticeable.

Bluetooth: Doesn't pick up the phonebook from my Nokia nor wifey's Samsung. I don't care about 'compatibility list', 'approved phone list', etc. - it should be compatible!

Xenons: sorry, but they are sub-par (still better than halogens, though).
