The most annoying thing about your X3?

This seemed to be a pretty popular thread over in the X5 area, so I figured, "What the heck?"

While I am hard pressed to contribute a lot here, I will offer this; The most annoying thing about my X3 is its lack of convenient storage bins and containers. The netted areas of my '05 3.0i are not cutting it and get pulled all out of shape by oddly shaped or heavier items, like a bottle of water or a CD wallet.

I would love to add a cd changer (well less so now that we have hooked up the Sirius) but I don't want to sacrifice the storage space.

Maybe I haven't owned it for long enough to develop any serious gripes, but that is what I have come up with for now.

What about you other X3 owners? Is there anything about your X3's (aside from the AT) that you hate?

Cheers,
D

My biggest gripe is that the aux in for the radio [mp3 players and the like] is in the rear cabin behind the centre armrest console, crap why cant it be in the armrest like all other models so that it is accessible by the driver.

This may only be a UK spec, I don't know

I wish I had a sport model, but that's not a design flaw.

The rear bench in the pre-facelift X3s is too low. It's fine for short folks like my mom, but for average-sized folks, the bottom cushion is too low. It also needs to have an interior hatch release, although I understand this is a part you can order from the accessory dept.

That's odd FLAMEZ...The aux input jack in our X3 is in the glove box. I agree the arm rest would be easier, but the glove box is not too bad. I usually pick a play list and just close the glove box door.

Though to be honest we use Sirius 95% of the time

I dont like that i must look at the radio and not at the instrument cluster to see what station i have and also that the follow me home function doesnt work like Touareg, that is when i unlock the car the lights to switch on.I would like the parking radar to have leds and not only be accoustic, more storage room(i use mainly the cup holder for coins and my mobile) and i hate that the stupid wipers cant be lifted for cleaning the windsield unless you use them and stop them(not in good english but i am sure you know what i mean !).

I thought of another one... the fat side skirt/running boards on these cars.

I have been trying to teach myself to exit the X3 in a way that keeps my clothing away from what will hopefully be a snow/ice covered skirt this Winter, but I cannot quite figure out how to do it. There must be a way though.

As a stop gap; I am thinking about keeping a rolled up towel alongside the front seats to throw over the skirt if/when it is truly necessary to emerge clean.

The lack of sound quality from the stock stereo. Planning to upgrade at least the speakers, haven't gotten to it yet.
