Warranty

Hey guys,

I got a phone call last week from BMW asking me if I wanted to extend my warranty with them; I've got about 500 mile left of the 50K. However, they said I would have to give them a yes or no on the phone if they told me the renewal price. I said I would call them back.

I've done a search on extended warranty but most of the threads were related to X5 owners. I want to now whether X3 owners feel it is necessary and/or worth it to get an extended waranty. Also, who are the best companies.

Warranty direct don't get good reviews in the UK. What are they like over here?

Thanks in advance.

Now there is a unique Stlr "marketing move": they quote a price and
you have to say yes or no, lol! If you were to say "no" does that exclude
or prevent you from every buying an ext warr from that idiot dlr?!
What a come-on...

I assume he is humping BMW's official 2OP program, details linked below.

If you want the 2OP deal, I'd rec'd calling every dlr in your "area" and
asking for their best price...as for X3 vs. X5, I would put considerable
credit in both cars performing very similarly, over time, in terms of
stuff that will break and cost you big dough...

Several of us here have WarrDirect deals and most would vouch for
their coverage and methods, but YMMV.

The BMW 2OP deal is identical to the BMW CPO deal, neither of which
are quite as encompassing as the oem warranty, if one reads the fine print.
