Considering trading the X5 for an X3...Opinions?

Thanks for all of the information so far. It is very helpful. I have read about some of the issues X3s have, but did not know the detailed information about the fixes and years affected. Being built on the E46 platform is a big bonus for me. I am familiar with that, and have had very good experiences.

I am surprised to read about the cargo capacity difference. I'm guessing the X3 accomplishes this with less leg room in the back seat?

I am looking at the 05-06 range and unfortunately, it will have to be an automatic for the wife.

I'm sorry for any confusion caused by posting on both the X5 and X3 boards. I wanted to get opinions from both sets of owners to get a well-rounded opinion. I didn't expect to have people checking and responding to both boards, but I will try to keep the discussion going.
