The Changer is held in by (4) 8mm bolts, simple remove these and the changer can be pulled out of place.

Tom, it is much harder than you describe. Some of the bolts are inaccessible until you remove the center console. I know because I did it on my x3. You pretty much have to remove the entire center console, and the section around the shifter and up into the dash. It was a pain in the butt! Once all that is done, it is quite easy and like you describe.

My mistake, I thought this was an X5-specific question.

Shoot me a quick email and I will be able to respond with X3 specific instructions when I return to the office tomorrow morning.

Question CD changer removal

Hi,

I've just bought a 2007 X3 with CD changer and am looking to replace the changer with ipod integration.

Did anyone find instructions on how to remove the changer, preferably without removing the whole centre console?

If so would they let me have a copy please?

Not to worry, CD changer removed and intravee installed.
