Unhappy help needed

hello guys,

i have x3 2.5si gasolin .

when the car reached 7000km i needed to add almost 1 liter of engine oil,
quiet normal for new cars as i now.

i also had a service at 11000 km by the book as said.

now, on 15000km the oil indication is lighted again and when i check (digitally - no stick in my car.....) their seem to be missing oil again.

please help me - is it normal to add again oil ?! or there is aproblem with my car ?

thanks for replying.

Thats quite a bit of oil consumption. Its normal for the first 4-5000km for some oil consumption as the motor breaks in, but for it to repeatedly consume that much oil, is likely not normal.

It is normal.

BMW defines anything up to 1 litre per 1600 km as normal. If you went 4000 km there is nothing unusual about adding a litre of oil. You also don't know for sure that the oil was full topped off when the service was done, it could have been down a bit when they finished. Check it every 1000 km for the next 5000 km or so and see what the true consumption is. Keep records so that you have information for the dealer if you get into a discussion with them.

In the meantime, don't worry and just enjoy the car.
