Road side Assistance

Received mail from BMWNA indicating that our (free 4 yr) road side assistance will expire by the end of the month and that I can renew $69.90 for an additional year. My wife is the primary driver of the X so I am leaning on renewing but at the same time also hesitating to do so. Help me decide! Its BMW or my insurance which would be lot cheaper.

It covers a slew of things like:
*lock out service
* flat tire assist
* battery change
* gas- in case you run out
* USA and Canada coverage
* towing...etc, etc....

Thoughts would be appreciated- thanks

The price is a bit more than you would pay elsewhere (auto. club, credit card option, etc.).

BMW does not add any value to this type of service as it is contracted out for both administration and operations.

I think that this service through an auto. club is usually more responsive and when it doesn't work as planned, they are more amenable to making things right.
