October '05 BMW Group Sales Report

BMW Group vehicle sales this October were down 0.7% when compared to October, 2004. YTD sales for the first 10 months of 2005 were up a mere 3.5%.

Sales of the X Series were down 39.6% when compared to last October while car sales were up 12.7% as the 3,5 and 7 Series had a good month.

Sales of the BMW brand were up down 0.8% when compared to October, 2004.

Total October MB sales of 18,349 units represent a microscopic 0.1% increase over last October when 18,323 units were sold. 2005 YTD sales for MB are down 0.7%. MB sales would have been much lower save for introduction of the 2006 M Class in April and YTD sales of the SLK. Sales of the M Class were up 24.4% when compared to October, 2004 while YTD sales of the SLK were up 117.0%.

Please note that I only report the United States sales data.
