Dealer says Nav screen not covered by CPO

So about two weeks ago the Nav screen goes out. Make the appointment yesterday, get a call this morning stating the screen is bad and not covered. They want $2300 just for the screen. Obviously I told them not to do the repair, but how is this not covered under the warranty? Anyone have any info on this? How about a place to buy a replacement? This is an '04 X3 with the OEM flip up nav.
BTW, the radio has periodically stopped working as well before and during the screen being out. Any correlation?

Sorry CPO...I guess MotorDavid answered it though. Such BS that it would not be covered.

Anyone know where I could get one other than the dealer??

Hey Griza, How are you doing? checking in after long.
ebay or Zygmunt Motors: BimmerParts.com or Martin at BMW Bluetooth Retrofit Information or any salvage car parts place. I am not sure if ECS tuning carries.

Hey Lemans, hope all is well!! Once I sold my 4.6is, I was MIA for awhile. I picked up the X3 for my wife since she needed the trunk space. I think this is going to be a difficult search as there are few X3's with Nav and it is a flip up that sits on top of the dash that is built in. It sucks because you can even see what radio station you are on. The dealer wants $2300 for it which is obscene. Hopefully something will turn up. Thanks for the links, greatly appreciated.

Found one on ebay for $360. Now I need someone to install or need some instructions.

From the BMW NA site, nav is listed in the "not covered" section, fwiw.
