X3 Headlights intermittent

2004 X3 3.0 US spec - Tonight the headlights started something new. Headlights won't come on untli the vehicle starts to move. The headlights shut off when you come to a stop and come back on as the vehicle starts to move again. Standard headlights, no options. Does anyone have any suggestions?
