I did it joined because i bought the car like that too.Just talk to u salesman ask him about the trade in letter he knows what to do....later b0riqua

Unfortunately, it's too cold in my garage at this time of year , so I'm having the stealer do it next week. According to the instructions, it's a one hour installation, so I'm assuming it's relatively easy. Maybe I'll have the stealer take pics at each step in the process, if they're willing.

I got lucky. I ordered the vehicle with them on and it cost me $450.00

That IS pretty cheap! You lucked out! I paid that much for the running boards uninstalled, and the stealer quoted me ~$120 just to install them.
